How to remain calm and have some fun as a mum: tips to unwind and remain calm.



Are you a mum or perhaps you recently become a parent? Do you find yourself yawning often these days and wishing for more time to rest or relax? 

Won't it be great to have some hours or a day to relax and have some fun? It will be nice to take some time out to do those special things you like to do. But you find that most days, that looks like a luxury. Why? Because you are now a parent. 

 I know every mum ( and dad) will like to have some time to relax and have their own adult time. A time to rest those aching muscles and bones and just simply unwind. A relaxed mum keeps the home running smoothly. It also keeps frustration away.

 The day you became a mum, your time seized to be fully yours.  Your work also increased automatically. Since then, your quite and relaxing days reduced and for some mums, those days are over. Just like that!


These days you realise that the issue of finding time to relax and have a mum time, even for some minutes, is like a luxury. Why?  

Because some precious little ones are busy being in your way, running around, jumping on the bed, talking with loud voices or shouting as the case may be and as if these are not enough, they come interrupting your work with one demand or the other.


whew! 



Whether you are a stay at home mum or working mum, dealing with children and managing the home are relatively same method. But as a mum, do you take some time to relax a bit during those times? It will be nice to take some time out to unwind? I know I sure need it. 

There you are up and about, trying to finish some chores or maybe you are getting ready to go to work, and then you hear your child cry out. You leave what you are doing and move quickly to find out what is going on -he cannot find his favourite toy! In another case, it is his pair of socks which he wants to wear to school.

 

Well, you just have to help him look for it so that you can go back to your work.

 You sometimes run around with them, just to keep an eye on them as they play or draw. I have my children play in the same room or next room so this way I watch them and prevent any form of accident while they play.


Added to that, you spend your day carrying your baby or toddler, supervising their play, cooking,  and literally being everywhere and doing many things at the same time.


 This is all hectic for the stay at home mama and also the working mum, but mums just have to find the time to have a few moments to and for themselves.

Your head is pounding as a result of these activities and it is as if the day will never end.

This is also hectic if you are a working mum, but you Just have to find time to have a few moments to yourself.

Usually the typical busy day for selfless mums, who live their days  making sacrifices for their children. and children know mums are there whenever they need their mums.

 

It can be hectic, but despite all these, it still feels great to be a mum.

 

so these are some tips highlighted:

  1. Allow them to play outside
  2. Leave your children with your husband and trusted family members
  3. Look for a place where you can be comfortable.
  4. Jot down a plan for the next day
  5. Have a play time planned out.
  6. Let them exercise with you.
  7. Visit your friends or invite them over to your place.

 Therefore, these tips that can help you have some mum time are further explained below:

  1. allow them to play outside. they can play at the backyard or in front of the house, as long as they are not far from your watch.
  2. Leave your children with your husband or trusted family member for some minutes. if your husband is at home, leave your children with him for some minutes. those few minutes will grant you the opportunity to finish any chore that was interrupted. better still, you can use the opportunity to sit down, close your eyes and relax. it is also nice to have family members and trusted close friends come around to help.
  3. look for a place where you can be comfortable. this can be a chair or your bed (although bed could make you sleep). close your eyes and  take deep breaths. It doesn't matter if your children are there with you. Sit down and rest for a short while or as long as your children will not bother you.
  4. Jot down a plan. I find this to help. So try to write down how you'll intend your next day to be the night before. even if you make a little list, it will still go a long way to make the next day easier.
  5. have a play time planned out. it can include painting, drawing, molding, playing with toy cars and dolls. this keeps them busy for quite a long while. I sometimes sit with them and watch them draw or colour a picture. Just watching them get engrossed in their little activities brings a smile on my face. We all laugh together when they make funny pictures. 
  6. Include them in your exercise sessions. have your children participate in your exercise sessions. You will realise that you exercise without being too disturbed because they are exercising too.
  7. visit other mum friends or invite them over to your place. A visit with other mum friends gives the opportunity to have a nice mum time and (most of the time) mum conversation with your friends. You chat and laugh about what your children do and how sometimes they drive you crazy. You will realise it's not peculiar to you. Other mums have pretty much same experiences. Then at the end of your visit, you will notice a more cheerful and relaxed you.
